Starting Over

October 30th, 2008 at 5:23 pm by Jamie Jarosik under Weather

Hello, Bloggers!

Here we are with a new website, and a new (sort of) weather blog to go along with it!  The publisher is the same (World Now)… but we are pretty much starting over, as all the old blogs will not be linked here.

We are looking at some GREAT fall weather as we head into Beggar’s Night… Halloween… and the weekend!  A big ridge of high pressure is building in, as you can see below:

That will keep things warm over the next several days.  The forecast for Trick-or-Treaters is dry… and cool, with temperatures falling into the upper 40s by 8pm.  Then on Friday, we’ll climb into the mid-60s during the afternoon, with the 60s hanging around for Saturday and Sunday!

There is a weak cold front that tries to drop in on us over the weekend, but there is just no moisture in place… and really no forcing, either.  So we are thinking at the most, we’ll see a few clouds… but no rain.  It will be a super weekend for raking up those leaves, or doing any other yard projects!

Still looks dry and comfortable for Election Day!  Enjoy it!

Jamie

And nice to have the big DTN back on cable!

I was using my capture card to watch Jeopardy, and some of the newscasts, but it kind of tied up computer. Namely the fact that you need the whole screen to watch TV and can’t get anything else done. Too bad I didn’t have a second computer. Ha.

Hello Jamie. The new web site is great! I like it a lot. The weather blog is a nice change also. Keep up the good work and bring us some snow before to long. Jim

Please be one of the first meteorologists in the Dayton market to stop using the terms “snowflakes” and “raindrops.” To me it sounds silly to say, ” Snow flakes are in the forecast.” Snow or flurries seems more sensible. There are already plenty of flakes out there. Also, thanks for a great job.

Thursday, November 13th A nice day after the rain moved out early this morning. Middletown received 1/4 inch of rain. Can’t wait to see some snow showers or flurries over the upcoming weekend. Jamie! You know Penny and I love the snow so bring it on.
