The Storm That Won’t Quit!
Our storm is a slow-mover… so we continue to experience light wintery precipitation over parts of the Maimi Valley. Everyone still has the chance of freezing rain as the night goes on. As of 5:30pm, most locations are right at… if not just below freezing. The closer you are to that freezing mark… the better the chance that the precipitation is not actually FREEZING… but we may drop a few more degrees overnight… and that will mean that things could get icy again.
For that reason, our WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY has been extended. Most of the Miami Valley will be under this until midnight… but a handful of central counties are only under the advisory until 7pm. I can see them extending that… so keep an eye out here:
It’s not until early Wednesday morning… say 4 to 6 am… that we will switch over to some light snowfall. On Futuretrac below, the storm will track into Northeast Ohio by Wednesday morning at 8am:
As the upper trough moves through, we’ll continue to see scattered light snow showers through Wednesday night. We could see a dusting to an inch… but I doubt we’ll see much more than that!

First of all, Happy New Year to everyone! Hope everyone had a nice Christmas. Haven’t had much free time for awhile to blog. What is it with all of the freezing rain & ice we’ve had over the last few weeks? I can’t remember the last time that the freezing rain & ice events have outnumbered the snowfall. Like everyone says, Welcome to Ohio! Don’t like the weather, stick around, it’ll change in a minute or two… Congratulations to Carl Nichols on his retirement!!! It’s nice that he’ll still be around from time to time. And a BIG THANK YOU for all of those years you devoted to keeping the Miami Valley well informed on the weather.
