Storm Winding Down

January 7th, 2009 at 6:26 pm by Jamie Jarosik under Weather

Overnight, the storm that has been affecting us since Tuesday morning is finally winding down and moving on out.  We will still see a few snow showers overnight… maybe some lingering flurries Thursday morning… but after that, we will have a break in the wintery precipitation!

The sun will try to peek through Thursday afternoon, and it looks like we’ll see more of it on Friday.  Another storm will move in for the weekend, and right now it looks like Friday night/Saturday morning may be a little wet and/or snowy.  The models are NOT agreeing on how this one will track!  Check out the different solutions.

The NAM puts the low to our Northwest:

The GFS has the low to our Southeast:

And the ECMWF has it to our Southwest:

So as we head into the 2nd half of the week, hopefully these solutions will come together a bit more!  Stay tuned.

There are signs of another Arctic Blast coming in next week.  We will blog more about this on Thursday!

  1. With all of the icy conditions we have had recently, I can say that i’m sure ready for Spring to get here!

We’re supposed to move to our new house by mid-February. I betcha it’ll rain all the way until then and finally, that day, we’ll get a huge blizzard. Just my luck. Of course my husband couldnt choose nice warm SPRING to move. Be safe!
