Hot time summer in the city…
I remember last weekend forecasting a heat wave but I’m not sure I was even mentally prepared for all of this heat and humidity.
July 2011 is not even over yet and it is already broken the top ten warmest July’s on record. To compare month’s the average temperature is used. This is when we take the high AND low from each day of the month and average them together.
Not only has it been hot during the day but at night lows have stayed in the 70′s.
Here’s a look at where this July ranks in Dayton’s history.
Of course we have a lot of catching up to do to make July 2011 THE warmest July on record. The hottest actual air temperature has been 97° on both July 21 and 22nd but the heat index or feels like temperature has been more than 100° The hottest temperature ever recorded not only in July but ever in Dayton was 108°
Our ‘normal’ high for this time of year is suppose to be in the middle 80′s.
We’re far away from 85° and while we may get close to that Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday get ready for another round of 90° temperatures. Remember – we’re about five months from Christmas…keep this in mind when it’s cold and snowy

Tara! Bite your tongue for mentioning that awful snow word! LOL
