Doesn’t feel like February

So yesterday I was asked to do a story on the warm weather.  My photographer and I went to Cox Arboretum and checked out a local park.  I had no idea I would meet such interesting characters.

First Sterling – he’s an older man who was waiting for his wife and daughter to finish their walk.  He let me talk with him and he really was a hoot!  Our second spot was a park in West Carrollton.  It was there I found a spunky five year old who was so excited to show me how she can ride her bike.  I never realized how much energy five year old’s have!  Here’s a link to the story a did.

The warm weather yesterday made many people head outdoors and they’ll probably do the same thing today.  As we begin a new month let’s look back at January.  While Dayton was about three degrees above normal for the month it wasn’t the warmest January on record.  In fact it didn’t even make the top five.

It was hard to believe but yesterday even with all that wind (which made it feel much cooler) we hit 61°!  Geez!

Temperatures won’t be that high for the rest of the week but we’ll still be above normal through the weekend.  While I have been getting many compliments for the nice weather I know that some people want some snow.  Those who love to ski and snowboard but let’s not forget those who rely on winter weather for their business.  Snow removal companies and ski resorts are probably wishing for temperatures to drop and flakes to fly.  As we all know – we can’t control the weather we have to take what we’re given.
