Another soaker coming…

It’s a gorgeous morning with a bright blue sky and comfortably cool temperatures in the 50s.  Check out the Satellite/Radar image, though, and you know things will change as the day goes on:

That storm system currently located over Missouri will head our way, and clouds will be on the increase today.  It looks like most of the daylight hours will be dry, with the slight chance of showers starting in the west this evening.  Then, the rain chances increase tonight:

Rain and thunderstorms become likely and some of them could produce heavy downpours.  The threat of severe weather is mostly south of us, and the Cincinnati metro area is included in an Elevated Risk for this evening/overnight:

We can’t rule out some hail or gusty winds, but the main threat of strong storms is south.  The rainfall forecast is anywhere from a quarter of an inch up to a half inch.  But if we get some good thunderstorms in the area, some spots could pick up near an inch of rain… a nice soaking.  I know our local farmers would appreciate that!  Here’s the latest update on our Fort Loramie corn crop that we’ve “adopted” (planted May 12th).  The rain we did receive this week has helped a bit!

Thanks to Amy & Jason for keeping us updated.

We still could see a shower or two Friday afternoon, but otherwise expect a mostly cloudy, breezy and COOLER day with highs in the mid-60s!
