A record warm spring
Spring really sprung this year around the Miami Valley. Although summer didn’t do the same thing – yet. I can’t believe it was in the 50′s yesterday with all that rain! I had to do a double check to see if it really was June.
I guess I have been spoiled because we really did have a warm spring. Much of March we saw temperatures above normal and that sprouted some flowers a little earlier than usual. While April was ‘normal’ May was well above normal. Including three consecutive days in the 90′s. I’m sure many of us will not forget that Memorial Day weekend. I did some research and it seems that March and May were not only above normal they both were WELL above normal.
Thirteen and seven degrees above normal is a big deal when you’re talking about the entire month. So it’s really not a big surprise that our entire spring was warm and was even a record breaker. For climate purposes meteorologists consider March, April and May the “spring” months. Here’s a look at how Dayton ranked.
So we’re back to normal for the next seven days. I don’t see any big weather pattern trends that would suggest our temperatures would warm or cool significantly. Here’s a look at our almanac page for today. This will give you an idea of the type of temperature we’ll be seeing in the next week.
