Warming into the weekend…

It’s another beautiful, clear and cool morning here in the Miami Valley!  Going into the afternoon, our warming trend continues!  Yesterday we made it up to 76-degrees… we will likely add a few to that number this afternoon, as readings push into the upper 70s.  Right around normal!  We will also see plenty of sunshine, again, but do run about a 10% chance of an isolated shower this afternoon.  We have a weak upper level feature that will move in, and a stray shower could pop with peak heating.

Back to clear and calm conditions overnight, and the warming continues Friday and into the weekend.  Sunshine will be the rule Friday through Sunday, as highs climb into the low 80s (Fri)… mid 80s (Sat)… and eventually upper 80s  (Sun)!  The humidity will also be inching up, so it will definitely be feeling much more summerlike over the weekend.  By Monday, we’ll likely hit a high near 90-degrees right ahead of our next storm system.  That FINALLY brings in the chance for rain by late Monday and into Tuesday.  As I said yesterday, we need it now… we will REALLY need it then!  Here is a look at current precip numbers, as we continue to dry out:

Today’s Drought Monitor shows northern Mercer County to still be in the “Abnormally Dry” area:

All eyes will remain on the system to affect us during the first half of next week.  Hopefully the places that need rain the most–ie, the northern counties–get it!!  Until then, the water bill continues to rise…
