Wow weekend… now we warm up a bit…

What a great weekend… Saturday we had a nice comfortable 80-degree day, and Sunday–while a bit warmer–was still nice at 85.  As Tara mentioned in her weekend blogs, we have been more than 6-degrees above normal on our temperatures this month.  We still stand at the fourth warmest July on record… and the next couple of days look to be above normal, too… so we will likely stay in the top five.  We’ll have the final results later this week!

Above normal temperatures this week put afternoon highs in the upper 80s to right around 90 each day, and lows will generally be in the upper 60s.  Rain chances aren’t the best at this point.  Today, a disturbance is dropping in from the northwest, and is bringing some cloud cover to the region:

We can’t rule out a spotty sprinkle with this, or even a light shower, but most locations won’t see much today.  There is a slightly better chance of rain on Tuesday as a cold front drops in:

Scattered showers and thunderstorms become more likely in the afternoon hours.  Not everyone will see that rain, however, as coverage will be spotty.  Then we get into a dry stretch for mid-late week, as a slow warming trend begins.  More rain is possible by the time we get to next weekend.  Even though we’ve seen significant rain recently… we could still use more.  Yes, the grass is greening up a bit… but that will be temporary unless we continue to get moisture every few days.
