Hot end to the week, with weekend rain possible…

High pressure is moving off to our east, and will bring us another dry and hot day here in the Miami Valley.  Yesterday’s high made it up to 92 degrees… and today we’re going for 94!  With a slight increase in humidity, it will feel more like the upper 90s with the heat index.  Today’s rain chance is low… maybe a 10% shot in our extreme southern counties (Butler, Warren, Clinton).  Otherwise, we will have to wait until the weekend.

On Saturday, we could see a few pop up showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.  A lot of locations will NOT see rain, but there is about a 30% chance a few develop…

The chance of rain will continue Saturday night and into the first part of Sunday, as a cold front approaches.  Right now, it looks like there could be some ongoing activity Sunday morning, then a lull into late morning… with new development possible in the afternoon as the front comes through.  Timing could change, however, as it is still a couple days away!  If you have outdoor plans this weekend, be sure to keep an eye on the forecast with WDTN on air and wdtn.com.

The Storm Prediction Center also has us in an elevated risk for severe weather this weekend, late Saturday… and into Sunday:

It’s a good time to download the 2 News App… FREE!!… to easily stay up-to-date on the weather situation.

One of the common questions I get from kids–and sometimes even adults–is “what happens when you wear green at the green weather wall?”  The answer is that the Chroma Key will take whatever is GREEN and put my weather MAPS in place of that color.  So technically, I would be a floating head! :)   Well, today I found out the hard way that our new HD camera also keys out the color YELLOW!  This is what I wore…

And this is what it looked like at the wall… helloooo Pittsburgh!  LOL…

This definitely makes a TV meteorologist feel naked!!

In half-marathon training news… this week I have logged 14 miles.  Of course, that’s over the course of four days. ;)   I hope to do a long run this weekend–still shooting for 8-9 miles.  Wish me luck!
