Muggy and wet weekend but better next week
It’s been quiet a busy weekend with several thunderstorm complexes bringing much needed rain to many parts of the Miami Valley. Early Sunday morning another round of rain made its way through the area. Here’s a look at the 24 hour rainfall totals from Live Doppler 2HD
I talked with our weatherchecker in Cedarville and he said that he only got .05″ of rain. So it looks like part of the Miami Valley really missed out on this rain event.
These showers and storms had a lot of moisture to work with. Have you noticed it’s felt really muggy this weekend? That’s because our dew point or the measurement of how much moisture is in the air has been in the lower 70′s! Normally when dew points are above 65 we start to feel uncomfortable so when we are in the 70′s it feels gross (I know a technical weather work
)
Here’s the good news – notice the shade of green only goes into central Indiana. This means there is less humid air (where the dew point values are in the middle 50′s) not to0 far behind.
The cold front is already through the Miami Valley however the less humid air is a few hours behind it. As high pressure builds across the Miami Valley Monday look for lots of sunshine lower humidity and pleasant temperatures. I think many of us are looking forward to giving the air conditioning a break and opening the windows!
