Here comes the rain againDecember 8th, 2012 at 6:29 pm by Tara Hastings under Weather
Is that catchy tune now stuck in your head too? I love the Eurythmics and feel like this is a great way to describe our weather pattern. More rain is expected Sunday and Monday. We have had a lot of cloud cover today with a few sprinkles of rain earlier this morning. Some of our weather checkers called in with generally small amounts.
While we’re seeing the rain and warmer temperatures it’s a different story out to our north and west. The plains are gearing up for a winter storm with snow, gusty winds and chilly temperatures. There are already winter warnings and advisories in effect.
We’re going to be on the warmer end of the storm meaning most of our precipitation will fall in the form of rain. There’s a chance for a few scattered showers after midnight with a better chance of rain near daybreak Sunday.
We’ll see a lull in the precipitation between about 10am and 4pm before another round of rain moves through.
Colder air pushes in late Monday but most of the rain will be out of the area. This means there is a slight chance for a mix or even a few snowflakes. Accumulations will be minimal.
I know many people and even a few businesses are looking for colder air and snow. Hang tight winter has just begun!
