Cold starts warmer afternoons

Clear skies and light winds are allowing temperatures to fall into the 20′s for the last couple of mornings.  Much of the Miami Valley including Whispering Pine Farm in Kettering dropped to 23 this morning!  The reason we were so cold is because an area of high pressure is right overhead.

Even though we’re seeing a chilly start we’re going to warm up later this afternoon thanks to lots of sunshine! The high pressure moves slightly and our winds turn out of the south and southwest.

It will be clear and cold once again tonight with lows in the middle to upper 20′s.  It’s going to be perfect for viewing the Geminid Meteor Shower.  I wrote a detailed blog about this yesterday.  Click here to read it.

The cold nights have allowed for Mad River Mountain to make some snow!  I know all the ski lovers are very excited about this.  Click here for the latest snow report.

High pressure remains in effect for Friday which means a chilly start but lots of sunshine once again for the afternoon.  Keep the umbrellas packed for the next two days and grab the sunglasses.

Things are going to change for the weekend.  A storm system to our west will begin to increase our cloud cover for Saturday morning.

It will be mild for the weekend with highs in the lower 50′s however temperatures drop for next week.
