Another round of snow coming…December 28th, 2012 at 8:02 am by Jamie Jarosik under Weather
We are starting off COLD, as expected this morning… with some teens out there. This is thanks to the clouds thinning a bit, light/calm winds, and snowpack on the ground:
Where temps have dropped lowest (across the north), we are also seeing fog, so watch for lower visibilities and even black ice if you’re out early. This afternoon will again feature lots of cloud cover, and cold temperatures… highs will only get up near the freezing mark. Daylight hours will be dry, but during the evening we are once again expecting snow to develop. A Winter Weather Advisory is in affect for most of the Miami Valley from this evening through Saturday morning:
Snowfall accumulation does not look to be as high as the previous storm, but it still looks shovel-able for most. Here’s the latest thinking on storm totals:
Chief Meteorologist Brian Davis (@WDTN_Brian) will have more information this evening, as new data comes in later today. Stay tuned.
Saturday afternoon we may see a few more scattered snow showers or flurries, and then quiet down for the second half of the weekend. Another front arrives Monday into Tuesday… this one will not only bring in another shot of snow, but also much colder air. It looks like a frigid start to the New Year!
