Rain and warming…January 9th, 2013 at 8:58 am by Jamie Jarosik under Weather
Rain moved into the Miami Valley just in time for the morning commute. An approaching cold front is to blame:
Behind that front, temperatures are a bit cooler. We will likely not see a huge climb this afternoon, as the cooler air filters in… but we will still end up above normal, with a recovery into the mid-40s. We expect any rain to be out of the area by 10 or 11am, so dry for the lunch hour. The sun will also break out this afternoon, but it will be a little breezy with a west wind 10-15 mph behind the front.
Overnight will remain dry, and we will start Thursday with quiet conditions, but the chance of rain develops later Thursday afternoon:
At first, it will mainly be in the southern and western counties… but then during the overnight it spreads to everyone. Rain is still likely through part of Friday, but we certainly will be MILD! Highs are still forecast to climb into the upper 50s as we finish off the week, and Saturday we may actually hit 60-degrees. Saturday’s highs will be unseasonably mild, running well above normal:
And Saturday stands the chance to see the most dry weather at this point, so get out and enjoy the warm up. Sunday will feature more rain and a drop in temperature. We could even see a few snow showers early next week.
