Pretty quiet this week, but watching Arctic air for next!January 16th, 2013 at 8:01 am by Jamie Jarosik under Weather
The storm system we were watching for the overnight period did pretty much what we thought it would–it stayed south and east of our area. So while light snow/sleet and even ice accumulations plagued commuters from Cincinnati to Columbus and points eastward… we got off easy. Just some clouds here… and those clouds actually helped to hold temperatures UP this morning! Clear and colder, closer to the center of high pressure:
These clouds will hang tight through the morning, and we may see some breaks in the afternoon. Temperatures will be near, if not just above normal, in the mid-upper 30s this afternoon. Fairly quiet and near-normal weather continues through the end of the week, and we’ll actually see a bit of a warm-up for the first part of the weekend. Highs will be in the lower 40s Saturday with partly sunny skies. THEN the changes come.
We have an Arctic air watch in effect for next week! The first push of cold air arrives on Sunday, with a few flurries possible and highs only near 30-degrees. We will get into true Arctic air for Monday and Tuesday… take a look…
