Cold front today, but little change in weatherJanuary 17th, 2013 at 8:51 am by Jamie Jarosik under Weather
The clouds have been fairly stubborn across the region, as yesterday we only saw a few thin spots through the day. BUT, without them we wouldn’t have been able to enjoy one of the best sunsets of the year in the Dayton area! Here are some pictures sent in by our viewers:

The abundant cloud cover actually held temperatures UP yesterday morning. While the afternoon high was right at our seasonal average, the low was above that value:
Today will be very similar. The morning cloud deck has helped to keep us in the upper 20s/lower 30s… and afternoon highs should reach the mid-30s again. A cold front will move through today, but there will be little sensible weather change as this happens. We may hit our highs a bit earlier, before temperatures cool off behind the front in the late afternoon/evening. And the winds will increase a bit… but it will come through dry.
The biggest impact of this front is how temperatures will drop off overnight. Here are our forecast lows for tonight/early Friday:
High pressure slides south of us Friday afternoon, and this should finally be enough to bring us the brightest day of the week! It will also be another day of near-normal highs… and as the winds then increase from the southwest late Friday, a pretty significant warm-up is set for the first part of the weekend. Saturday’s highs will push into the 40s! Although it will still feel chilly as breezy conditions continue. But it won’t feel nearly as cold as it will next week, when Arctic air arrives!
