Snow showers today, watch for slick conditions developing…January 23rd, 2013 at 7:11 am by Jamie Jarosik under Weather
A disturbance will move into the area this afternoon, helping to kick off scattered snow showers. Generally, snow accumulations look light… but there will again be the potential for a heavier burst of snow to develop, so be aware of that. As temperatures remain well below freezing, slick conditions will develop in spots… and this will occur just in time for the drive home from work. Here is the temperature/precipitation forecast for the day ahead:
Snowfall will amount to an inch in spots by this evening, and additional light accumulation will be possible overnight. So again, not a lot of snow, but certainly enough to call problems on the roads, as we’ve seen already this week. Thursday it’s back to dry conditions (even a little sun!)… and then another round of snow moves in for Thursday night into Friday. This storm system is looking weaker this morning, so while we will likely still be able to measure snow, it doesn’t look like a whole lot. Stay tuned.
Part of the forecast that many will like is that we will climb into the 40s next week! Who would have thought the 40s would sound so good? Of course, the warm-up will come with the chance of more showers.
