Winter Weather Advisory today… snow accumulation likelyJanuary 25th, 2013 at 7:56 am by Jamie Jarosik under Weather
Right on-cue, snow is spreading into the Miami Valley. We were forecasting it to begin between 6 and 8am… and right now at 7am I am starting to get all kinds of snow reports! We’ve actually had snow returns showing up on radar all morning, but it wasn’t actually reaching the ground until now. THIS happens because the atmosphere has been very dry, so it takes awhile for the moisture to overtake all the levels. Once saturation occurs, snow is able to reach the surface. With temperatures below freezing and the snow falling heavy at times, travel conditions will deteriorate this morning. Here is the snow timeline:
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY does continue through 5pm. You can stay connected through wdtn.com all day long.
On Saturday, the sun will be back! Despite bright conditions, it is still going to be a cold day with temps running about 10-degrees below normal. Sunday we warm up a bit, as we make a run at 32-degrees! Clouds increase, however, during the day and by Sunday night we could see some freezing rain or sleet across the area. This will quickly transition to rain through Monday morning as warmer air moves in. Right now, next week is looking quite active, with a chance of showers through Thursday.
