Unsettled, but warming….

Temperatures were rising overnight… and the timing was good; such that most spots were above freezing for the morning drive.  We did have some icing, however, across the northern and eastern counties overnight.  We had reports of a thin layer of ice and slick spots… even a few accidents up in Logan County that were likely weather-related.  As of 7:30am, most are above freezing… we’ve been climbing into the lower 40s:

It’s a BIG change from where we were at this same time yesterday.  Look how much warmer temperatures are across the region!

We will remain unsettled through the first part of the week, with unseasonably mild air in place.  Today’s highs will top out near 50-degrees, as scattered showers continue on and off.  We will get some breaks in the precipitation, though, so expect some periods of dry weather.  We’ll make a run at 60 Tuesday afternoon as the chance of just a few spotty showers continues.  A strong cold front arrives Wednesday… THIS one will bring in the potential for rain and even a few thunderstorms!

As Tara mentioned in previous blog entries, there’s a little bit of everything this week: mild air, thunderstorms, and finally the return to COLD with a little snow possible.  The best chance looks to be Wednesday evening/overnight, with slick spots developing as temperatures drop into the lower 20s through early Thursday morning.
