Couple clippers bring snow this week…February 4th, 2013 at 9:50 am by Jamie Jarosik under Weather
We have the one-two punch with snow chances as we start the week: A Clipper system will move through the area today… and another one moves in for Tuesday. Overall, the snowfall amounts look to be light, but our northern counties have the potential to get a bit more than the immediate Dayton area & surrounding counites. For this reason, the NWS has placed them in a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY:
Here is the snowfall forecast through this evening… I am more inclined to go with the lower numbers on these scales:
So generally an inch or so is possible for Montgomery, Greene, Clark Co’s… with some isolated spots seeing up to 2″ here. South of town, there may not be much at all. Even if there’s little snow, it will still be enough to make the roads slick at times, and even reduce visibility. So use caution while traveling today.
The second Clipper arrives tomorrow afternoon, bringing in more light snowfall. This looks to mainly stay in our northern counites… so we may not see much here in the Dayton metro area at all. We will continue to watch it for you, of course!
If you’re sick of the cold and snow… I have good news! There is a bit of a warm-up for the second half of the week and weekend–we should have some 40s to enjoy!
