Windy weather to start the week…

February 11th, 2013 at 7:11 am by under Weather

A cold front moving through the region will bring windy conditions today.  We do have a WIND ADVISORY in effect for areas north of I-70 from 8am-7pm today:

Winds will gust to near 40mph in Dayton, and some of the northern counties could see gusts closer to 50mph.  This may down some tree limbs, and could cause isolated power outages.  Be sure outdoor items are secure today–especially if it’s trash day! Grab those trash cans as soon as you can!

Temperatures are starting off quite mild ahead of the cold front this AM:

But you can see the cold air behind it… that is heading our way today, along with the increased winds.  Notice how the winds are much stronger behind the front, as they shift from the west:

So hold onto your hats today!  This colder airmass will bring us down to near-normal temperatures for a good part of the week.  We’ll see highs in the upper 30s/lower 40s, with just slight precip chances.  There are signs of another big chill reaching us by the weekend.
