Storm moves south of us today, another hits us Friday…February 13th, 2013 at 7:08 am by Jamie Jarosik under Weather
A storm system is tracking south of the Miami Valley today. This is bringing clouds to the area, and will also bring in the slight chance of showers. The best chance will remain in our southern counties–mainly Butler, Warren and Clinton counties. The extreme southeastern portion of Greene county could also see a passing shower. Looking at the storm on radar this AM, you can see most of the precip is falling as rain:
But as the moisture lifts into our colder airmass, we will see it fall as snow initially… before it changes to rain as temps rise through the day. Soooo little in the way of accumulation is expected! We should reach the lower 40s, running just above normal again today.
Thursday will be a dry day, and as the winds shift in from the south, we’ll also see a brief warm-up. We should hit the upper 40s for highs… BUT it will be a little breezy. On Friday, the winds continue as the next system drops in:
This one will bring scattered snow showers and a big drop in temperature. We’ll be running below normal again Friday right through the weekend. It looks like there will be a brief warm-up for Presidents Day!
