Up today… down tomorrow, and some precip in between!

High pressure is moving away from us, and a cold front sits to our northwest:

In between the two, we’ll see breezy southerly winds today and a BIG rise in temperature.  We’re expecting highs up near 50-degrees this afternoon… with sunshine through the first part of the day, and increasing clouds in the afternoon hours.  The chance of showers develops this evening.  The rain will be scattered at first…

And then the rain fills in to be more wide-spread overnight…

As cold air moves in behind the front, we do expect a wintry mix… and even a few snow showers late tonight and through Tuesday morning.  Thus, the down part of the forecast: Tuesday, our high will only be 32-degrees… and temperatures will actually fall into the 20s during the afternoon.  Windy conditions will be in place, too, and winds could gust up near 30-35mph… so that adds an additional chill to the air!

By Tuesday night, we’ll be  back down in the teens… but at least we’ll be back to sunshine on Wednesday!  The next storm to affect the area will be Thursday night into Friday–and this one has the potential to make things slick as it could be mostly a wintry mix–freezing rain, sleet, snow.  We’ll keep you posted.
