Storm system brings us rain, snow and chilly temps…February 26th, 2013 at 8:00 am by Jamie Jarosik under Weather
It was a beautiful Monday afternoon, as expected. Sunshine and 43-degrees… I even took the kids up to the park for a bit, because I knew that would be the last time we see such nice conditions for awhile Today, things are already changing… right on cue, rain is spreading into the Miami Valley. Most communities south of I-70 are above freezing… but there are some to the north that are at or just below 32 degrees:
This means a brief period of freezing rain will be possible this morning. These temperatures should rise up above freezing by mid-late morning, and we’ll push up near 40-degrees this afternoon. BUT it will be a CHILLY 40. While yesterday felt ok, with the sun… that will not be the case this afternoon. Clouds, rain and breezy conditions will prevent that! We could see some heavier areas of rain as we head into the early afternoon… it looks like quite the soaker, with 1/2 to 1″ possible. The rain may become more scattered this evening and overnight:
There is the potential for some snow to mix in overnight, as we drop right around freezing for the low. Wednesday will feature a rain/snow mix in the morning… and we’ll see precip transition over to scattered snow showers later in the day. Any accumulation looks light, as we’ll generally stay under an inch… but we do stay colder right into the upcoming weekend!
