Slow moving storm keeps us unsettled today…February 27th, 2013 at 6:35 am by Jamie Jarosik under Weather
We had a nice soaking rain yesterday, and picked up rainfall totals in-line with what we were forecasting. Here are a few from our Weathercheckers:
The storm will slowly move across the region today, keeping our weather unsettled with occasional rain or snow showers. This morning we may see a rain snow mix… the potential for that will continue into the early afternoon. But eventually that will transition over to scattered snow showers, as colder air moves in at the surface and aloft:
The good news about today: temperatures will be above freezing throughout the day… so there’s no threat of icing. Roads will remain mainly wet, with some light snow accumulation possible on the grass. Tonight is where we may run into issues:
Lows drop below freezing, and with moisture on the roads… and additional scattered snow showers, we could see slick spots develop. So keep that in mind for the Thursday morning drive. Snow accumulation looks to stay under an inch through this timeframe… but still enough to make for slippery conditions at times.
We do stay unsettled Thursday into Friday, with a few snow showers here and there… but just light accumulation. The weekend looks COLDER, with highs in the lower 30s Saturday, and only the upper 20s on Sunday.
