Nice weather continues, but rain likely on Easter…

High pressure brought us a beautiful day Thursday, with sunshine and highs in the mid-upper 40s (officially 47 at the Dayton Int’l Airport).  I really hope you got to enjoy it… if not, be sure to take advantage of the warm-up over the next couple days… because there are still some “downs” to go through this season.  I took the kids, my nice and sister-in-law to visit the only working farm in Kettering.  Our Weatherchecker, Tom Westendorf, gave us a tour and introduced us to his animals… he has sheep, chickens, a donkey and a llama.  A llama?  I thought that was odd… but she was sweet and she helps to keep the coyotes away :)   Her name is Izzy.  Here are some snapshots from our day on the farm…

We came away with new friends, great memories and some fresh local eggs–I cannot WAIT to cook them up for the fam tomorrow morning!  Thanks to Tom for having us!

Today and Saturday look even nicer than yesterday, as temperatures continue to warm, and we’ll still see plenty of sunshine.  Look for lower 50s this afternoon, and mid-50s for a gorgeous start to the weekend.  As we head towards Easter Sunday, things are still looking wet.  Here is a look at some Easter climatology… and the forecast for this Sunday:

That’s the bad news.  The GOOD news is that it looks to be wet mainly through the first part of the day, and then drying out for the afternoon hours.  Temperatures will still reach the mid-50s, but will turn a bit cooler later in the day behind the cold front.  A second push of cool air arrives on Monday, and with this is the potential for rain OR snow showers:

Stay tuned as we get a better feel for the timing of this–the Reds game isn’t until 4pm… so hopefully any precip will be done by that time.  Have a great weekend & a wonderful Easter.
