Mild, but unsettled, stretch for the area…April 8th, 2013 at 7:39 am by Jamie Jarosik under Weather
When I left for vacation, I still had some snow in the forecast… but I am SO happy to come back to talk about warmer weather and the shower and thunderstorm chances! I hope you all had a great week last week… we had a blast on our trip to Florida. Got to see some old friends, the weather was fantastic, and the kids enjoyed their time on the beach!
While time off is always nice, I do love routine… so it is nice to be back at it today
A front is sitting just north of the Miami Valley. A few light showers moved through our southern counties early this morning, but they have dissipated and we are back to dry conditions. Notice the area of rain to our west:
Most of that stays north of us, but there is a 30% chance of a shower or thunderstorm as we head into late morning/early afternoon. The best chance of rain today is across the northern counties, closer to the front:
That front stays north of us through the next few days… which means we will continue to be breezy and unseasonably mild. But in the “warm sector”… we will also carry a slight chance of showers/t’storms each day. Here is how those rain chances play out this week:
Notice the peak on Thursday… that is a cold front coming through. We will have to watch for the potential for stronger storms late Wednesday and into Thursday. Stay tuned. Temperatures will turn cooler after that front comes through, so highs will only be in the lower 50s Friday into the first part of the weekend.
