More rain at times today… could be heavy

The rainfall from the weekend and into Monday has really added up in parts of the Miami Valley.  Check out the Doppler Estimates:

Again, you can see it was either feast or famine in the area, with some locations only picking up a few one-hundredths (like southern Montgomery County).  Today will be very similar, as not much has changed in the weather pattern over the past 24-hours!  We continue the chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, becoming most numerous in the afternoon.  The thunderstorms will be slow-moving at times, and could contain heavy rainfall.   So we will have the potential for some localized flooding… ponding of water on the roads… etc.

Our upper low still sits off to the west, the blocking high to the east, and we remain unsettled through the end of the week.  Rain chances will likely be lowest on Wednesday–although we’ll probably see a little something.  Thursday–yes, unfortunately for the 4th of July holiday–rain is more likely.  A push of moisture from the south moves in and widespread showers and thunderstorms are likely:

Right now, it looks like this could move in during the morning and stick around through the afternoon.  We will get a better feel for timing as we get closer to the holiday.  Stay tuned.

We’ll remain that way pretty much through the entire month as a concern.

It can rain or snow 6 to 10 inches within an hour around or within a quarter of a mile near the airport but the airport will only report between a trace to a tenth of an inch. That’s ridiculous !! Nobody lives at the airport Get rid of or move the weather station from the airport. Another waste of time and taxes !!!
