Rainy holiday expected…

As expected this morning, we have already had rain move through parts of the Miami Valley.  Southern and Eastern counties have seen some heavier downpours at times, but areas to the north and west of Dayton have remained dry:

Rain will spread in from the south during the late morning hours, and will increase in coverage over all the Valley as we head towards lunchtime.  Heavy downpours–tropical rain–is likely at times.  Here is what Futuretrac is forecasting for the early afternoon:

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for our southern counties through 6pm Friday:

Even counties NOT included in the watch have the potential for localized flooding with the heavy rain possible.  If you are heading out for any of the holiday activities… be prepared for very wet conditions at times.  Area fireworks will likely be impacted… while rain may become a bit scattered in the evening… it will still be possible.  So take along the 2 News App on your smart phone and frequently look at Live Doppler 2HD  :)

Happy 4th!
