90s through the end of the week…

After three days in a row with 90-degree highs, we have an official heat wave in the Miami Valley!  Here’s a look at where we’ve been:


We will finish the week off with two more 90-degree days, both today and Friday.  The dew points will continue to sit in the 70s, so our heat index will be near or just above 100-degrees during the peak heating hours.  We have some heat alerts for all of our counties through Friday evening:


We are still expecting relief on Saturday as a cold front moves in.  The front has slowed down a bit, but scattered showers and thunderstorms are still expected.  With the timing pushed back more into the afternoon hours, the chance for severe weather is increasing.  The Storm Prediction Center has us in an Elevated Risk for severe storms on Saturday:
