Cold front through, now nice and cool…July 24th, 2013 at 7:27 am by Jamie Jarosik under Weather
Take a look at these nice cool temperatures this morning:
Not only is it cooler, it is also much less humid. When we have dew points in the 60s, and especially the 70s, it feels very muggy. That’s what we’ve been dealing with so far this week. But now they have dropped to much more comfortable levels–in the 50s:
Yesterday we reached 88-degrees ahead of the cold front, and had some scattered thunderstorms as the front moved in. A few warnings were issued, and we did get some hail and wind damage reports in:
A lot of locations saw little rain (Dayton Airport officially picked up .07″)… or even NO rain at all. But there were isolated areas that had a good deal–Camden out in Preble Co picked up an inch. Now that high pressure is building in, we are back to dry conditions–no rain in the forecast through the end of the week. The next front is due in on Saturday, and will bring the return of scattered showers/thunderstorms… and a reinforcing shot of cooler air. This keeps temperatures below normal through the first part of next week.
