Continued hot and humid, with a few thunderstorms…August 27th, 2013 at 8:05 am by Jamie Jarosik under Weather
Yesterday, Dayton officially hit a high of 89-degrees… as summer makes a come-back! We will be right back up there this afternoon, with the upper level ridge continuing to influence the area:
While the winds at the surface are coming from the west-southwest today, the flow aloft is from the northwest. This means as disturbances move around the edge of our ridge… they may clip our area. We’ve already seen a spotty shower or two in our northeast counties. The potential for a shower or thunderstorm will continue as we head into the afternoon, but most locations will not see rain. A better shot of rain develops tonight and into Wednesday as a cold front moves in. Although, it’s not much of a cold front. We will still be up near 90 tomorrow afternoon, with humid conditions… and upper 80s are in the forecast behind the front for Thursday and Friday, as the rain chances diminish.
Right now, the holiday weekend looks HOT… and perhaps a bit unsettled. Not a wash-out… but a few scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible. We will keep you posted on the best timing for rain in the coming days!
