Nice & quiet through end of week…September 4th, 2013 at 7:11 am by Jamie Jarosik under Weather
Hello, Bloggers! I am back after a fun-filled long holiday weekend! More on my adventures after the forecast portion of the blog.
High pressure is settling in over the region this AM–bringing another nice cool morning:
We are expecting a lot of sun during the day, and we will warm nicely this afternoon, with highs in the upper 70s to near 80-degrees. It will feel pleasantly warm, with continued low dew points, too. A weak cold front will drop in tomorrow, bringing a period where we’ll see a few more clouds than today… but it is lacking moisture, so we will not see rain. While some areas received rain over the weekend… others missed out. And some parts of the Miami Valley are really dry! The extreme western portion of Darke Co has been included in the Abnormally Dry category:
And that does also extend back into Indiana–including much of Wayne Co. The next chance of rain won’t be until the weekend… so we need to keep watering!
Now for the fun! Labor Day weekend is always my favorite of the year, with my hometown’s big celebration. Holiday at Home in Kettering is the BEST–if you have never been, you should plan on it for next year. I was actually at a wedding before the H@H fun–one of my best friends from high school got married in Charlotte, NC. On our way, we could see the fog settling into the low spots from our airplane… it was really cool:
The weather in Charlotte was similar to here over the weekend–warm and muggy. We even had a brief shower on the wedding day, which worried the bride a bit. But she had me to constantly check the radar for her… and thankfully, as the outdoor ceremony was beginning… all the rain moved east.
Congrats to Katie & Devin! These girls are my best friends in the world–most of them I’ve known since elementary school:
The eight of us get together at least once a year, and this time around we were very happy to be celebrating Katie’s big day! Holiday at Home did not disappoint! We started Labor Day in Kettering with some low clouds/fog… but it was DRY for the 5K and parade. Every year, I meet up with the same friends… and this year, I was smiling extra big because I set a new personal 5K record! Woohoo!
And it was one of the best H@H parades in a long time! Here is the court–congrats to all!
