Another blast of heat

September 8th, 2013 at 5:45 pm by under Weather

Temperatures hit the middle and upper 80′s today and these warmer temperatures are here to stay.  Our high today was 89 degrees which was just after 2pm.

While we are going to be well above normal it doesn’t look like we’ll set any new records.  I just checked and the record highs for the next several days are in the upper 90′s.  While we’ll be hot we won’t be that hot.

Take a look out to the west.  Temperatures in the central plains were in the upper 90′s and near 100.  That heat will heat this way.

On Tuesday and Wednesday look for highs in the lower 90′s.  There’s a slight chance for a shower to pop but I think most locations will remain dry.

Along with the heat it’s going to be humid.  Dew point values rise once again in the upper 60′s to lower 70′s.  Make sure the AC is ready to go again!

A stronger cold front moves through late Wednesday producing showers and storms but more importantly temperatures and humidity levels will drop.

Have a wonderful week and try to beat the heat!
