Hot and humid weather continues through mid-week…September 9th, 2013 at 6:25 am by Jamie Jarosik under Weather
The high temperature in Dayton reached 89-degrees Sunday afternoon–what a hot day! Today, we will be up there again, and the dew points are increasing, so it will also feel more humid. Summer’s last hurrah? Perhaps. Fall officially begins on the 22nd.
A warm front will move through the area today, keeping us with above-normal temperatures:
As Tara mentioned yesterday, it’s been a long dry stretch in parts of the Miami Valley. We have only very slight rain chances through the first half of the week, with a 10-20% shot both today and tomorrow. This would be a pop-up isolated shower or thunderstorm, with most of the area staying dry. On Wednesday rain chances will finally increase late in the day as a cold front approaches. The best shot looks like it will be Wednesday night into Thursday morning as the front moves through. We definitely need the rain, but I am a little concerned that not everyone will see it. The timing of the precip (overnight/early morning) is not the best, as areas of rain typically decrease in coverage/intensity during this time of day. We will keep an eye on it, and hopefully you will get something measurable at your house!
Behind the front, temperatures and humidity will decrease significantly! So while we start the week feeling like summer… we will end it with a touch of fall!
