September heat wave…

Monday’s official high in Dayton was 93-degrees… and was 14-degrees above normal (normal high is 79).  Today, we are expecting another run at the lower 90s, and could even hit 90 again Wednesday.  Three days in a row would make it an official heat wave!  And to go along with the heat, we have the humidity.  Dew points will be in the upper 60s/low 70s… so our heat index (or “feels like” temperature) will be in the upper 90s during peak heating today.

Rain chances still are fairly low.  We expect a good deal of sunshine today, with maybe a 10% chance of a pop-up isolated shower/t’storm.  On Wednesday, we’ll see a few more clouds in the area, and the chance of rain goes up a touch to 20%.  Coverage still looks sparse, until we get to Thursday:

A cold front moving through will bring in more organized showers and thunderstorms.  The front does look a bit slower, now expected to move through in the late morning/early afternoon.  We will see a BIG drop in temperature and humidity behind the front.  So while we’re feeling summer now–we will see a switch to fall by Friday!  Expect highs to only reach the upper 60s by the end of the week, and lows drop into the mid-40s over the weekend.  Aaaaahhhh.
