Showers tonight and more rain FridaySeptember 19th, 2013 at 6:15 pm by Tara Hastings under Weather
We had a batch of rain move through early this morning producing some showers. Many areas got a good soaking since we really could use the rain.
It will be mild and muggy tonight and then breezy and warm for much of the day Friday. A strong cold front will produce showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. Some of these storms may be on the strong side with gusty winds, heavy rainfall and lightning.
Most of the day will be dry, warm and breezy but it’s after 5pm when rain begins in the western half of the area. Tomorrow morning starts off dry with rain developing after 5pm and hitting most of the area by 8pm.
Friday night football games and the Air Force 5k at Wright State University will have the potential for rain. Depending on the timing of the line of showers we may see a soggy start to the Air Force Marathon.
If the line of storms moves faster then the start may be dry. However many of our forecast models show there’s a chance for a shower in the morning. It does turn cooler and less humid for the rest of the weekend.
