Snowy morning… continued cold!

October 23rd, 2013 at 9:06 am by under Weather

Rain changed to snow early this morning, as a storm system moved through the Miami Valley!  Some locations saw enough snow to coat the grass and trees… along with other elevated objects like cars and decks.  The pavement has been a little too warm to see snow stick, and we’ve been dealing with mainly wet streets this morning.  Here are some great snow photos… most of them coming from areas to the north of Dayton:

The storm system will now move off to the east, and we will see a lull in the precipitation during the late morning and early afternoon hours.  However, we can’t rule out a few more spotty (rain) showers later this afternoon, as depicted on Futuretrac:

forecast

We expect a return to pretty quiet conditions tonight, as temperatures drop below freezing.  We have a Freeze Watch in effect for all of the Miami Valley tonight through early Thursday morning, as the growing season may end:

watch

If not tonight, then by Friday… as we will drop into the upper 20s!  Afternoon highs through the end of the week will remain in the 40s, with temperatures coming up a bit over the weekend.  Just think, we could be up near 60-degrees early next week!
