Coldest air of the season…and a little snow…November 11th, 2013 at 8:05 am by Jamie Jarosik under Weather
A strong cold front is approaching the Miami Valley today, and we’re already seeing the clouds thicken up ahead of this feature. We’ll be quiet through the first part of the day, and will reach the upper 40s… very similar to Sunday’s highs. By mid-afternoon, rain showers will be possible… and it looks like these will stick around through the drive home later today:
During the evening hours, as the strong front comes through and temperatures start to drop, we will see snow mixing in with the rain:
Eventually, we expect a full change-over to all snow… as cold air really takes over late tonight:
Snow accumulation will be light–generally an inch to an inch and a half–but it will be enough to make roads slick in spots. We will also have the potential for a little blowing/drifting… so this will add to things. Overnight lows are forecast to hit the mid-20s, and this won’t even be the coldest night of the week!
Get ready for a taste of winter! Chief Meteorologist @WDTN_Brian will be tracking the rain and snow in our 90-minutes of news beginning at 5pm, and again at 10pm on Dayton’s CW… and at 11pm right back on @WDTN. Then, 2 News Today starts dark and early Tuesday morning. I will have the latest on the morning commute starting at 4:30am.
