Another blast of Arctic air this week…January 20th, 2014 at 8:00 am by Jamie Jarosik under Weather
Today is going to be the warmest day of the week–we are actually starting off with most locations at or above freezing this morning! We will see mostly dry conditions through the day, with just a slight chance of a flurry or light snow shower. We have a series of cold fronts that will affect the area, and these will bring in MUCH colder air:
Temperatures will start to fall later this afternoon, and will continue on a downward spiral overnight. We will hit 10-degrees for the low, and as the cold air moves in, snow showers will become likely:
Accumulations will be on the light-side once again– we expect most to end up near an inch, with some isolated 2″ spots. The Tuesday morning drive will be slow at times, with the chemical treatment not as effective in the colder airmass. Tuesday afternoon will be a struggle, and it looks like highs will only get up near 12-degrees. It’s definitely a cold stretch this week:
After a few morning snow showers Tuesday, we will dry out until late Wednesday, when the next round of light snow is possible. Active and cold–the pattern continues!
