A big warm up before temperatures crash again

The weather story the next couple of days will be the warmer temperatures.  Get out and enjoy this taste of spring because we have a chilly couple of days in the middle of the week.  (I’ll get to that in a moment…)

Today we saw near normal temperatures, sunshine and a bit of a breeze.  Highs today were in the 40′s.

Highs are going to soar the next couple of days into the upper 50′s close to 60 Monday and Tuesday!

Winds will really pick up later tonight and through the day on Monday.  Those winds are going to help usher in those warmer temperatures.

We’re going to see a bit more cloud cover through the day Monday and Tuesday so even though it will be warmer we won’t have full sunshine both days.

It will be a great day to head to the park, get a car wash (which reminds me I need to do that – I still have white salt spots on my car!) or just sit on the patio for lunch.  Clouds will thicken a little more on Tuesday.

Of course, like the season we’ve been seeing this year the warmer temperatures aren’t going to last.  There’s a winter storm that will take shape in the central plains by Tuesday evening and head toward the Miami Valley on Wednesday.

Temperatures crash into the 30′s for Wednesday and Thursday – and YES there is a chance for snow.  After the winter we’ve had, the way the computer models have been under performing I don’t feel comfortable putting any type of snowfall forecast.  What I will tell you is that some of the precipitation will start off as rain and transition to snow as the colder air heads southward.  Will there be accumulating snow?  YES that is possible.  However it all depends on the track of the storm – right now it looks like that will be the northern half of the area.  It does look like flurries/snow showers will occur across the entire area Wednesday afternoon/evening.

We’ll keep an eye on it for you.  It appears this winter isn’t over just yet.

Hi Tara, I think everyone is ready for the warm weather to stay! It’s time for “Old Man Winter” to retreat up the hill for several long warm months! Take care, Greg!
