Storm moves away… cold for a day!

A late season winter storm affected the Miami Valley Wednesday, bringing rain, wind, cold and snow as expected. We started with the rain… and it fell heavy at times:

Then the winds picked up. Quite the blustery day, as the northerly flow ushered in much colder air:

And as we turned colder, the precip mixed with sleet and snow… and eventually changed over to all snow. Here are some of the snow totals reported by our Weathercheckers and the National Weather Service:

Now high pressure is building, bringing dry conditions and setting us up for a bright day ahead. We expect mostly sunny skies, and lighter winds… but it is still going to be quite cold. Our high is forecast to be near 30-degrees, which is about 18-degrees below normal. This chill does not last long, however! A warm-up ensues Friday as southerly winds increase over the region. Expect a breezy, cool day with highs in the mid-upper 50s!
