One more warm day before rain cools us off…May 8th, 2014 at 6:46 am by Jamie Jarosik under Weather
We are firmly in the “warm sector” of a storm system. A warm front sits north of us, and a cold front trails low pressure off to our west:
Southerly flow will be breezy again today, and this (combined with sunshine) will allow temperatures to rise into the mid-80s again. We officially hit 84 Wednesday afternoon, which is 15-degrees above normal! Today we are forecasting 85. The Dragons are back in town this evening, and you couldn’t ask for a better night at the ballpark!
Tonight will start off mostly clear, but clouds will be on the increase as the cold front heads our way. This system brings the changes for the end of the week. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will move in as we head toward lunchtime Friday:
The chance for showers and thunderstorms remains high all afternoon Friday, and even continues into the evening and overnight. Temperatures will be cooler, although still above normal, with highs in the 70s right through the weekend. Rain becomes more scattered on Saturday, and it does look like we will have some dry weather to enjoy. Same story for Mother’s Day… a 30% chance of scattered showers/t’storms… and a high near 78. There are signs that temperatures will take a much cooler turn at the middle part of next week, with readings below normal.
